Roving retirees do good, live practically free
« on: November 17, 2013, 05:28:06 PM »
http://money.cnn.com/2013/10/28/retirement/retirees-volunteer/index.html

Article about retirees traveling around in RVs and volunteering at state parks, disaster areas, etc.

Sounds pretty fun to me!  :)
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
I (rarely) blog at AdventuringAlong.com. Check out the Now page to see what I'm up to currently.

Interesting. Thank you for sharing. We were in the Great Sand Dunes National Park last year and the transmission blew in our truck. The camp host was a retired guy from Arkansas and was quite a colorful and helpful character. He was retired and traveled all around the country in his RV with his dog.

I agree that it sounds like fun.

Totally. You don't even need a full-size RV, those things are expensive. When my wife and I were living in a van for the summer we met an older Quebecouis couple traveling around the country in a specially modified minivan with a bed and drawers. There was even a toilet in the back!
