Some folks are seeking early retirement in China. Sounds like they have heavy cultural and governmental pressure to keep working.

This article sounds like a new take on what’s already been known, when comparing habits.  Chinese save almost half their pay about 25% of their pay and retire around 55. I just looked up some info to confirm, and standard age for men is 60 and 50 (or 55 depending on blue/white collar role) for women. There were some articles that came up about how the government is planning to raise the age because of the fear they won’t have sufficient labor in the market. Life expectancy was very low when the numbers were set, but people are living much longer now.

edited to correct--- I've heard the Chinese save half their pay for quite some time, but it seems thats a national figure, including government.  On a personal level, it sounds like its somewhere around 25%.
