I,ve always been a fan of high life. I think the whole advertising since I can remember has been somewhat inline with mustachianism.

Most of these ads were from my pre-mustachian days, so I didn't pay much attention.  I agree, though. There's dozens of them on YouTube, and they're generally pretty mustachian.

This one about biking is even more appropriate than the first one I posted.

While it touts a Mustachian theme, at the end of the day it is just another ad trying to sell you on an idea or brand instead of the product itself. No mention of the value, taste, or quality of the beer...it is "hey buy this beer because you are a man, and work hard etc."

This is also coming from someone that used to work for MillerCoors, the company that owns Miller, Coors, Blue Moon, Peroni, Fosters, Keystone, Hamm's, Killian's Irish Red, etc. It is crazy what a little marketing does. For instance most people think Blue Moon is a small independent craft brewer competing against the big brands.

Either way, if we are being bombarded by ads... it is refreshing to have one with a more positive message.

I love the High-life beer commercial. Maybe Biking Enthusiasts/Mustachians should fight fire with fire and hire our own Don Draper/Marketing Firm to spread our message? We can show them the high life commercials as example #1.

Until they taste it. Gag. Tastes like someone poured a real Belgian beer in a 5 gallon bucket, then topped the bucket up with Coors Light.

I like those commercials.  I also like drinking macro brews because I can get a case of 30 cans of Miller Lite for $24 and that easily last me over a month.  There's not enough of a difference in taste between macro and micro brews for me to choose to spend $1.50 per bottle rather than 80 cents per can. 

Mustachianism has helped me learn to appreciate the way people lived in the USA before we fell for marketing and decided that we all needed to live luxurious lives.  I drink macro American beer and drive a domestic automobile, because there is no longer any real difference in reliability between a domestic and foreign car.  I've been learning to do my own home repairs instead of paying someone to do it for me.  I grow some of my own food and go on simple vacations to nearby destinations.  This was how Americans lived for close to 200 years before we all drank the Kool Aid and decided that we were all going to live the lives of the rich and famous on credit.
