German was my second foreign language at the university. I will try to practice. We'll see. The website looks interesting!

Danke!

Hi Bebegirl,

thank you.

I'm living in the US with my family since more than three years (Washington DC suburb)
Its great to have both perspectives.
The Germans are the better savers and less crazy with consumption but they are completely uneducated regarding investing.
About half of the total savings of the German population are currently rotting away in checking, savings- and insurance accounts with zero yield.
So the topics in my webpage are less about jacked up pickup trucks bought on credit but more about stock market ETF's
:-)
Have a nice week!

This is cool! Germans impressed me with their pretty frugal approach to life, to saving resources, to possessing less staff. Germany is such beautiful country. Do you and your family plan to return there one day? :)

Maybe, but at the moment we are still in the US-honeymoon period.

The main problems for me is the weather. I'm absolutely tired of living below the clouds for 8+ month of the year.
The US advantage is that nearly all climate zones are available that one could wish.
From tropical to harsh winter. High mountains or warm beaches. Everything is possible.

The DC area where we currently live is already great with lots of sunshine even in winter.
You cannot get something like that in German speaking Europe.
And for a example a Florida climate is not available anywhere in Europe.
The closest you can come to a Southern California weather is South Spain, but there you are surrounded by 40%+ youth unemployment and opening a business will make you crazy there will all the regulations and taxes.
Thats not something I would like my kids growing up into.

Have a nice day!
