Mustachian Podcasts?
« on: March 07, 2012, 09:48:41 AM »
Have any of you found any podcasts that discuss mustachian values (i.e. sustainable living, wealth building, passive income, FI, frugality, ect.)

I don't listen to many podcasts but would be interested in any recommendations.

One I have found is The Survival Podcast which is not all about doom and gloom or apocalyptic scenarios like the title may suggest but rather growing/storing what you eat, being financially free from bad debts, and general skill building (hunting, gardening, perma-culture).  I like his tag line which goes something like "Preparing for when times get tough or even if they don't"

I also listen to The Survival Podcast from time to time. Good stuff to know!

I wish I could bring more to the table but while not mustachian per se, that was the one I was going to suggest :)

I'd also love to hear if anyone else has found some good ones!

I'm one of the (it seems) rare ones that doesn't like podcasts/videos/etc.

I can read an article in a minute or two minutes.  The same thing in a podcast would take 5-10 minutes.  I hate when news sites put their reporting in a video instead of article.  I don't want to sit through a five minute video for an article I can read in a minute.

I just don't get the appeal (unless you have a long commute I guess?).

Does this survival podcast also post a blog?  Because it sounds like something I'd be interested in, but I have absolutely zero interest in listening to it.
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
I (rarely) blog at AdventuringAlong.com. Check out the Now page to see what I'm up to currently.

Typically, I'm right there with you arebelspy. I definitely prefer to read vs. listen to someone ramble on. However, while I'm working it's not so easy for me to read articles and still write code. Example - My time spent on this forum lol.

He does have a blog portion but I don't really check on it often. Last I knew, the info was discussed in the podcast and the blog was more of a topic summary than anything else. I could easily be mistaken but check it out: www.thesurvivalpodcast.com/category/blog
