Chinese Mustachians

I am a Mustachian in China, but I am not a Chinese national and thus not Chinese. This was the first place I had seen mention of Chinese Mustachians in the cities. Of course, you could say that those people still living traditional village life are Mustachians, but that number is dwindling, though still large.

Thanks for posting! In addition to a paid-off mortgage, they probably have no property taxes. And wet markets are SO cheap, even in giant, supposedly-expensive Chinese cities. The basics of life here are really affordable.

Going to share this on WeChat and see what my Chinese friends say.

Edited to add: Just ran into this, about a couple in Nanjing who save 89% of their salaries. Netizen comments seem pretty similar to those on MMM: http://english.sina.com/china/2012/1017/517165.html

I find their figures entirely believable. I spend around 3000 yuan a month or so and live a life full of luxury. Life can be very simple and cheap if you avoid eating and drinking at expat places too often! (having housing provided obviously helps here too)

I too love my local wet market too, I probably spend $15 or so and that'll feed me for most of a week's meals :)
