Rockhouse owner is pretty DIY badass. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqwsQ65CEvk  Kind of reminds me of MMM.

That chap was on a much longer Grand Designs programme, fascinating:

Quite a few cave houses where I live. A lot have fallen into disrepair or are mainly used for storage but a lot still inhabited. Here's an example:

There was a cave home as one of the top BBC new stories on the day this thread appeared.

There are several cave houses in my area. They are carved into sandstone geologic units. A private subdivision in a beautiful canyon has 4 or 5 cave houses in it. I got to visit one of them a while back. It was placed in a long but thin (width-wise) sandstone ridge. They blasted a Y-shaped tunnel through the ridge so they had a big opening on one side and two openings on the other side. They built the living area within the tunnel. Very cool house.

Where would Chairman Mao be now without cave-type housing, in the pinch?

Well  -he would still be dead, but perhaps much earlier.

Make up your own mind about whether that would be bad or good.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
