Anyone seen this PodCar/Bicycle?
« on: December 21, 2016, 06:17:55 AM »
Came across this today, but the article is from April, so I don't know if it was discussed here before.

I thought it was a cool idea.

Has anyone seen one?  Would you buy one?

As a Jeep owner, I'd be hesitant over the replacement cost for that fabric top, and it would have to be replaced every few years.

I love it, but I also build extremely powerful electric bikes (one that goes 85km/h), so I'd take the frame etc and put decent power in it with a legal switch hidden somewhere. That way I could keep up with traffic if needs be, something I feel keeps me safer at times on my commute.

To be honest though, I don't really see a need for it in a warm country, and this not having a second seat wouldn't be able to replace my car for hauling the kid.

Cool site. Found another rad idea for a bike, a treadmill bicycle-the "Loplift" there:

I like the looks of it, and would enjoy trying a vehicle like that out just for fun (and science).  But it needs a tow hitch, because there is obviously no room inside for anything but the driver!

I should read more carefully (and watch the video), because it does have a tow hitch.

The USA/Canada version will be a 3-wheel model due to US/Canada laws regarding motorized bicycles.

Hmm, that's even more interesting than the first post.  Thanks for both links, gang.  Staying tuned.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
