2 mustachian athletes - 1 not
« on: March 24, 2023, 07:55:17 AM »
I don't have a twitter account but apparently a Baltimore Ravens was bashing Kawhi Leonard for driving a 1997 car saying it was a dumb decision.  Another NFL player came in with  a picture of his high school car (2003 Ford Ranger) that he still drives.  I'll guess that 2 of these 3 won't be in the high percentage of athletes that go bankrupt.

I mean the guy has a NW of 80MM+ and makes 40MM per year. It is a bit silly.

Maybe he actually has a higher chance of going broke if his financial literacy is such that he thinks he can't afford a newer/more reliable/safer car.

Also, it's a Chevy Tahoe so not like he is doing this for environmental reasons.

Flash attracts trash.

If they're driving run-of-the-mill common folk vehicles without any shiny bits, they're incognito on the road.

The safest place to hide is in public.

Also, NFL athletes have financial literacy classes/seminars/sessions. Because they know that they're one injury away from end of career. Save Dat Money!
