Looking for spot to stay in my RV in Denver
« on: May 18, 2017, 09:16:57 PM »
Hello!  We want to spend between a week and a month in Denver in July in our 33' fifth wheel.  We do have 3 pretty well behaved dogs.  If you have a driveway and an extension cord, or suggestions for campgrounds/RV parks I would be grateful.  We were planning around $500/month for rent, $600 if you actually have septic hook-ups.
Thanks!

I think your rig is too large for our driveway unfortunately (length we could probably get away with but I am betting at that length you aren't very narrow and the driveway is narrow). Otherwise I would offer it since we could always street park. If you want to know a free spot on the far side of Colorado almost into Utah as part of your journey though I can recommend Rabbit Valley. Its BLM and they have a large RV parking area that you can use for free up to 7 days in a row. Especially useful if you want to go do wine tasting in the Palisades when you are out here.

However that doesn't help more locally and it doesn't help if you are uncomfortable being away from hook ups...How adventurous are you in your sleep overs? Did you need hookups because I can probably give you a list of places in Denver you can stay at for a night or so as long as you don't need hookups. Feel free to PM me to discuss.

Thanks for responding! I am not sure what we will be doing - I am striking out getting a monthly rental in Denver.  DW and the dogs need to stay somewhere without me while I go to visit friends for 3 days, and DW has a friend in Denver she could visit, so we thought it would be easiest to just go there, but now I am not sure.

Thanks for the heads up about Rabbit Valley!  We will definitely look at that.

We are currently at the Boulder County Fairgrounds campground in Longmont, CO
They have a dump station, but no sewer hookups at the spots
spots have water and electricity though

You can get a spot for $15 without anything, $20 with water, $20 with electric, both electric and water $25
Maximum stay is 14 days, which is enforced
It is central, walking distance to a lot of places, including the fairgrounds itself, that has lots of interesting events including a farmers market on Saturdays.

There are a lot of dog walkers here, as there is a humaine society on the corner and the volunteers walk dogs all the time.

You cannot make reservations, but it has not been super busy even on the weekends.
