Shoot. I'm two months into using Ting, I wish I would have seen this thread before signing up.

Been using Ting for a year and half now and averaging $48/month for 2 lines. Much better than the ~$120/month I was paying Sprint before that and we were able to migrate our phones seamlessly.

Have only been on the forum a week now, but it's already been tremendously helpful and I'll be sticking around and contributing where I can.

I used YummyRaisin's referral; here is mine:   (and thank you if you happen to use it :)

https://zg2cst5kebh.ting.com/

Have been on Ting for about 3 weeks, so far their customer service is outstanding.  I emailed them due to delay in receiving sim card, it was a USPS issue (before Christmas), they credited my account anyway and fed-ex'd another one.  Then they followed up twice more to make sure everything was satisfactory and to ask if I needed anything.  Far cry from AT&T customer service!

Quick question: husband and I are thinking of getting rid of ATT, which we've had since before it was Cingular, so we haven't been in the market for new cell service for a long time! When Ting advertises data prices, minutes, etc. does anyone know if those numbers are shared between the two lines or are they for each line? So 500 text messages would be shared, for example, or for each? Thanks for any insight you might have.

@DrMoney - They are shared between the two lines based on actual usage. My wife and I switched over from AT&T and have been paying around $46-55 per month in total compared to the $120 we were paying with AT&T. Service is not quite as good, but we can deal with it for that much savings per month.

Dr. Money, to guesstimate your potential bill o to ting.com and click on 'what would I save' to enter your usage .

For example: 2 lines $6 each/ $12 total
500 min $9
1000 text $5
2 GB data $20
Total $46/month for 2 lines
YMMV

Hi. Thanks everyone. I also used the referral from BallistaMan (over the weekend). I wasn't signed up for the site then so I'm just posting on it now.

FYI, if your referral discount isnít showing up on your ting account, you can get it reflected through their online chat. Thatís what I did this weekend and they were very helpful about it.

Once someone uses the code from Chason, please consider using my referral code https://zo5l1066qbh.ting.com/

I've been on ting for a little while now, gotta say it's been great. Only wish I had moved over sooner.

Somehow my referral code got skipped over. I signed up using frogstomp81 code, my referral code is https://zkisns5mo7h.ting.com/

Thanks!

Just ordered my SIM card. Wasn't sure who's code to use as it looks like the chain skipped a link!  Ended up using VeggieGirls code. Thanks.

Here's my code. https://zq657m6gcok.ting.com/

I almost went with Cricket, 4gb of data for $35 a month and good service around here, but I plan to be doing a lot of international travel for the coming year and with Ting I can just pay the base $6 a month and keep my phone number. Hoping the set up and number porting all works easily.

I ordered a Ting CDMA SIM card, but it turns out Sprint coverage is not good in my area.  If anyone would like a free SIM card, PM me and I'll send you mine.  I never activated, so anyone should be able to use it.

I ended up going with a prepaid plan thru Red Pocket - $10/mo for 500 minutes, 500 texts and some small amount of data.  $99 if you purchase a 1 year plan, bringing the cost down to $8.25/mo...good enough for me!
