A college friend of mine works in energy consultations in the southeast. He's an electrical contractor specializing in solar installations, and consults on LEED certifications. He's seen a niche for a software product, and brought me in due to my experience in software. We developed a proof-of-concept app, but now we need to bring in a developer to take the concept work to the finished product stage.
It's a web portal in PHP and MySQL, with some XML and JavaScript components, and we need a developer to refine it. It'll be a six week timeline. There is real growth potential in this market; the current project is relatively simple, but there are much more complex and lucrative avenues for the future.
Ideally, we'd find someone with enthusiasm for renewable energy projects, who wants to work with a start up from the early stages. The company is based in the southeast, and I'm based in Madison, WI - we'd like someone within a few hours of either location for the occasional face-to-face, but most work could be done remotely.
