ISO: Decent camera for concert photography
« on: November 23, 2021, 01:07:08 PM »
UPDATE: Got good advice from a photography aficionado over Thanksgiving, and he ended up finding us a used Nikon D7000 + three lenses, a carry case, a tripod, etc for $550 on eBay.

Hi there, Mustachians! My kid is a first-year student at Parsons School of Design in NYC. They are a huge fan of live music, and now that venues have opened up again, they are loving all the opportunities to enjoy concerts again. A couple of the bands they follow have given them permission to "officially" shoot their shows in the spring, meaning backstage and "across the barrier" access. One problem: my kid doesn't have a camera. Oops.

Before paying $$$$ for a camera that may or may not get a ton of use (kid is leaning toward majoring in  Illustration, not Photography), I thought I'd see whether anyone has equipment they'd like to turn into some cold hard cash.
