Science Fiction AI as religion?

anyone have any recommendations for science fiction books that deal with AI as a religion?

Off the top of my head, here's one of the classic short stories: "The Last Question" by Isaac Asimov (full story available here)

Heirs of Empire by David Weber

In this case it's more like a civilization regressed to a gunpowder age of technology and an ancient computer system is the voice of God.

This book is basically a side story to the main plot of the trilogy which involves an alien race that is unknowingly led by a rogue AI that directs them to kill any other species (such as humanity) by keeping them in a perpetual state of war so it stays in command.
