December-January MMM Book Club poll
« on: December 01, 2012, 11:21:01 AM »
Hey everybody! December-January's MMM book club selection will be from a loser's bracket of prior months. Vote away, and see you in the thread.

Amazon links are for comparative purposes only. Be a good little Mustachian and get the book from your library.

Would just like to note that if anyone has an e-reader, Walden is open source here:

Thanks! Voted against it because they don't have it in the local library, but I have now changed my vote.

Oh and just my 2 cents about the book choices: The millionaire next door is a good read, but the only thing a mustaschian might learn from it is that most of people that have a NET worth of over 1 million dollars in America are in fact very frugal. As much as I've enjoyed the read, I wouldn't recommend it to people who already like MMM.

I'm half way through The millionaire next door and would have to agree that there isn't a lot of specific information to gain, but it's still a good read.

Thoreau has been on my list to try for a while, but I ended up voting for Predictably Irrational because it sounds more interesting...  :)  I'm happy with any of the choices.

There's also Ken Kifer's notes on Walden. You might remember Ken from his Bike Pages.

Thank you for sharing this site; this is my first time seeing it. The bike pages are full of all sorts of good info. Ken seems like he would have fit in well with mustachianism.

Voted for Walden because I'm about halfway through Predictably Irrational already...however, I have to say that it is a terrific read. Even if it loses, go out and read it sometime.

This is really not a good race for options one and two.

I have to agree, Dan Ariely's Predictably Irrational is a really good read. I even wrote a blog post about one topic I've found fascinating in it!

Now obviously I've already read it so I'm hoping Walden wins, however I would really recommend this book.
