Waldorf schools
« on: February 06, 2014, 12:09:18 AM »
Hi All, after reading My Son is Ready to Retire, I googled Waldorf schools and there are several in the Boulder County area! You Longmontian Mustachians might want to Google Why Waldorf Works and check it out. Then see how closely the listed schools adhere to the philosophy. Who knows? This might be right up your alley.
Then help me find a little house in Longmont?

I love Waldorf!  Unfortunately there are no schools (well one with a commute and heft $$$) around us.  I have been reading a lot of books about this and using some of the play methods with my toddler.  I would love to be self-employed by the time he is school aged so that we can do Waldorf inspired homeschooling.  Many of the values of Waldorf are very Mustachian:  no television, play with simple toys to inspire imagination and time in nature. I was just wondering if any other parents on here follow any of these principles.

Our oldest daughter attends a Waldorf inspired charter school (because the tuition for most Waldorf schools, which are generally private, is not so mustachian) and thus far we are quite pleased with it as I've found it more closely aligns with our personal values than other local schools.
