Title: Sometimes it sticks, sometimes... not so much.

Scene from three years ago: my daughter and my husband are rushing to leave for the college where he teaches and she is a sophomore. DH asks if she could put together a lunch of some kind for him. She quickly makes a sandwich and hands it to him with the words, "It's only peanut butter, but when you bite into it, just say to yourself, 'Mmmm, tastes like six dollars!'"

Scene from yesterday: Her younger brother, now a sophomore, is rushing to leave for the same college. As he heads out, he says, "I know the financially right thing is to make a sandwich, but the thing is, hot winds taste so much better than peanut butter."

LOL.  My two are exactly the same, except with the roles reversed.
