My daughters are at a day camp this summer that takes field trips, yesterday was a field trip to Chuck E Cheese.   My kids hadn't been there before because of our frugalness.

I asked them last night what they thought of Chuck E Cheese.  From my 5 year old daughter: "It was sort of fun, but do you know that those machines are just trying to take all your money?  They are supposed to look fun, but that's just so that Chuck E. can take your money. "

Good God, I think the last line is the definition of consumerism.  It is supposed to look fun, but that's just so that they can take your money.
