I just found out about some proposed legislation in the House of Representstives called HR 529. The benefits are that it would allow employers to make a pretax contribution to an employee or employee's family 529 plan or ABLE plan. The downside is it is only up to $100 right now. The bill is in committee (ways and means) right now so if your representative is on that committee and you like this bill be sure to contact them. You can read the summary here.
