Non-skid soles
« on: October 12, 2017, 07:39:44 AM »
Hi,
Got a great batch of used clothing in next size up for my kiddo. Includes a bunch of fleecy footie pajamas which is excellent for winter. Only problem as we discovered on the linoleum floor this morning is that there isn't any of the 'non-skid' left on the feet, so its all smooth plastic-y stuff.  Anyone have any luck fixing this? Is there like an iron on non-skid stuff I could buy? PJ's are in great shape otherwise but I foresee a lot of falls in our future without the non skid.

My first two thoughts would be hot glue or puff paint!

Our toddler has one pair of grippy-soled soft slippers/moccasins for just this reason.  There are a ton of brands (like Robeez, but there are many others ) and you can make your own if you're handy with a sewing machine!  The sizing is not very fitted so they last awhile too.

+1 to puff paint. Do zig zag lines and smooth them down a touch.

You can buy that grippy fabric at JoAnn fabric and sew a new sole on.

Or spread honey on the floor
Ridiculously tempting as I already have 100lbs of honey in buckets on the floor!

I think I'll try the puff paint. Might get new fabric at JoAnns because we also have a pair with holes in the toes, and having a hole in your toe is apparently a meltdown worthy crying problem around here.

sounds like fun. Let'm skate around, learn balance, coordination, and core strength ;)

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
