A few years back my oldest wanted an iPad. We went to the Apple store, and then after getting a price on a mini and the accessories, we went to the Microsoft Store, where she found a small tablet with keyboard and software package for $240.
Daughters 3 and 4 were out with my wife to buy themselves a joint tablet, but the devices changed since a few years back, and a tablet wouldn't be the right device for their favorite game. There was a great deal on a $1,200 laptop for $800.
My wife said she would chip in $200 and asked if they'd like to go to the bank and take out another $200 each and come back.
The younger one said, "I'd rather use the regular computer," meaning the family laptop that we all use, and the older one agreed.
