Thanks for hosting again, Michal! We will certainly miss the view of the water =)

As promised, I've started a Facebook group so we no longer have to refer to each other as our screen names and can remember each other's faces! I've kept the group "Closed" for now, so you can request to be added, but can certainly shift it to "Secret" once it matures (at that point, we'd have to issue invites).

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1006618562766133/

Also open to names more creative than "Toronto MMM Community". Part of me thought about going left and calling it "MMM...muffins" like that old defunct muffin chain.

Thanks Michal - Loved the condo and views. Even had me thinking about selling the kids and moving downtown.

Great event and a great host!

Thanks to everyone who came, I had so much fun hosting, seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones. Loving this evolving community!
And thank you all for showing up with yummy treats for the group. My coworkers will be enjoying lots of leftovers tomorrow :)
To the person who brought homemade cookies in a ziplock bag - not sure what your forum user name is and did not notice the cookies until everyone left, but they are absolutely delicious (and my coworkers are not getting any of them - keeping all to myself!)
Again, thanks everyone, looking forward to the next one!!

Thanks for hosting Michal.

It was great talking with the people I did have a chance to connect with, and I'm sorry I wasn't able to stay longer and chat with the rest of you guys.  Next time!

Err, that was probably me. Chocolate oatmeal with a hint of coconut? Sadly they were not as moist yesterday as they were on the weekend, but it was an experiment :).

Moist or not - they're yummy! :)

Michal, thank you so much for hosting last night. My first meet-up and I look forward to another.  Surprised(don't know why) how diverse we are-value different things, different opinions on what is important to spend money on---- it was great!

How about going to play games at 401 Games for our next meetup? Maybe one evening on the week of May 16 - 21?

I'm down, but busy Monday through Wednesday these days in the evening due to some night classes... I can stop by very late (post-9PM probably).

Another idea for the future: Wednesdays are free nights at the AGO! (but Games first!)

FYI, also shared this update to the FB group.

So far looks like Monday, May 16 is winning.

How about throwing in a couple of Thursdays in our list of possible dates for tomatops?

The choices:
Thursday, May 12
Monday, May 16
Thursday, May 26

vivibot - do those work for you?
plainjane - can you make either Thursday, or only Monday?

Everyone else- when you reply can you say which date(s) work(s) for you? Thanks :)

Woohoo! Let's do the Thursday, May 26th since more people can come, and it'll give time for other people to find out about it :)
It'll be at 401 Games. How about 5:30pm?

Shoot! That's the one day in the entire month I can't attend. Alumni event.

Maybe next time! Btw, there's a game night every Wed/Thurs alternating with a meetup group i'm part of if anyone is interested in a weekly event.

CanuckExpat, when will you be in Toronto?  I know it's not as exciting as a Camp Mustache, but maybe a meet up you could attend would still be fun?

That would be fun, and was the reason I was posting to follow in this thread.
Our plan is to spend a bit of time in Toronto in the fall, decompressing and relaxing with friends and family before we make our way slowly south.. but, if we don't detach from work in time and it looks like there'd already be freezing and snow, there's a chance we'd go to the southwest instead and chase the good weather before making our way back up for our extended break.

So depends on the weather, and how fast we get around to quitting :)

Um... wrench in the plans. Just bought a property in Belleville and closing is on the 15th. Looks like a meetup would be difficult that week... unless its in Belleville and you all bring shovels and hammers.

This week was penciled in but haven't seen anything firm planned. We usually meet downtown. We've met at a boardgame cafe a couple times, and someone's condo as well.

Either one is fine for me, but suppose I shouldn't propose someone's condo :) Boardgame cafe.. anytime this week or next?
I'm relatively free.
