So let's say you were going to a MMM meetup at some dude's apartment and needed to put together a power-point of a kick-ass cycling adventure. Lets say you were doing that, and you wanted to make sure everyone got the info they needed, what would you put in the power-point?  And strictly speaking, would it be proper to wear a viking hat while presenting, or would other attire be more appropriate?

Unfortunately I won't be attending, I have two presentations in Mississauga that day and I'll be too fried by the end.

It's a tragedy that some of us will miss this!!!!

Terrible, terrible news. You aren't the only one who will miss this.

Last night the grade 2 concert at our kids' school was postponed due to the 'storm of the century' that entirely missed us. That has little bearing on this social event except that it was rescheduled to March 8th.

Sorry guys, but the kids hafta come first.

If we have a 'thing' in April, I can share my ideas then. Alternatively, I'll save the slides to googledocs and give everyone a link - which I was going to do anyhow.

I know I expressed interest already, but please add me to the guest list.

Alternatively, we can find a place without a max capacity.

I'd also be open to going somewhere else where there's no max capacity if it's easier.
The board game place worked well last time.

I agree! A bigger space would be more welcoming and no clean up!

Apologies everyone, I somehow stopped receiving notifications of all the correspondence in this thread!
Still ok with hosting, but happy with whatever the group wants to do - if people prefer a different location just let me know where and when and I'll be there.

Thought you had disappeared and worried about whether we were on or not. If you're still cool with hosting, then I say let's have it at your place - unless the group grows too big for you. I'm happy to bring a few drinks and share with the group. Also, would you mind sending me the address? I got locked out of a my previous account and had to open a new one :( so I'm not sure if you had already sent out private messages to everyone.

I've received several private messages in support of keeping my place as the location for tomorrow's meet up (Tuesday, March 8th).
Start time - ~6:30pm.
I will send a private messages with the exact address to all that expressed interest in attending.
If anyone else wants to attend and is not on the distribution list - please message me and I'll provide the address.
Looking forward to tomorrow!

Can't wait for the damning evidence to come forward from the meetup - who is responsible for filming and publishing?

Have a great time guys! Tomorrow I'll start a new thread on the cycling event in the spring and link to it here.

Oh noes, I missed the March 8 meetup! It sounds like it was lots of fun, though, yay! How about scheduling one in for early April? Any day after the 10th would work for me.

I am happy to host again, and I'm fairly flexible on the date starting with the week of Apr 18th.

I'm down with another MMM meetup in mid-late April on a weeknight!

And Michalit - I can definitely bring some snacks, etc. - you were far too generous last time!

Actually, looks like April 19th (Tuesday) is the only day that doesn't work for me that week :(
Any other day would be great.
I am more than happy to host again, everyone's welcome, the more the merrier.
Sure, we could do a potluck-type evening, but to be clear - I did not feel I was being "too generous" last time :)
Looking forward to it!

Perfect! Monday, April 18th it is! Let's aim for 6:30pm-ish start time, as previously?
Please indicate on this thread or send me a message to indicate you will attend (and if you plan to bring something - maybe what you think you'll bring so we don't have too much of the same. Again - no expectation!).
I will send a message with the address a few days prior to the meet up.

In!

Oh, and I'm bringing a friend of mine who does not follow the forum consistently, but is still into MMM.

Not sure what I'll bring. Something fruit or veggie related? I hate purchasing platters, so maybe a box of clementines?

I'll be there. Probably bring something sweet - homemade cookies or brownies or something. I may bring a +1 that I'm trying to get into MMM.
Michalit - does your building have a party room by any chance? Just in case a lot of people end up wanting to come?
Valerie - love homemade guac!!!

Hi all! Back from lovely San-Francisco!
Monday, April 18th, 6:30pm is confirmed.
Will send a message shortly with location info to all that have confirmed attendance (either here or in a private message).
I am not capping the number of attendees, all are welcome, but we might need to be creative with seating/standing arrangements :)
If you are interested in attending and have not received a message from me by tomorrow, please message me.
Thanks,
M.

The building's public spaces are still somewhat under construction. I will have a look today and report back to the attending group!

OK in like flynn. Just confirming that I will be there. Only remaining question is whether I bike in (2.5 hrs, could mean late arrival) or hop a train.

Is there secure bike parking in your building?

Looking forward to seeing everyone who've confirmed!
Just a quick follow up on prospector's questions -
1. no courtyard in building (still a construction area) but if we really want to be outside, it is less than 5min walk to the waterfront, we can opt for spontaneity.
2. no secure bike area in building but been told there's a bike rack in the back area outside of the building (it's a temp accommodation for me, so not that familiar with all the "features").
See you soon,
Michal
