Hello mustachians!
We are starting a local group for mustachians. The aim is to have a group of those committed to early retirement and financial freedom in which they connect, build up understanding of badass retirement planning, share life hacks, and discuss the local implementation of mustachinsm. The plan is to have monthly meetups, with each meetup focusing on a theme, with occasional speakers who can boost up the group's knowledge. Those speakers could be known for things like long-term investment, budget traveling, minimalism. Meet-up themes can be be:
- Raising children
- Food
- Traveling
- Taking care of your health
- Building up and maintaining social connections
- Non-consumerist hobbies
- Career building before retirement
- Post-retirement planning
I do not want to reinvent the wheel, so I would like to ask your tips and recommendations on how to conduct a sustainable mustachian group. Any tip is deeply appreciated.

If the group is desired by multiple people and you’re all in agreement as to how you all want to configure it (place, time, structure, frequency, goals, cost, etc.) then that’s a good start. Just about anything can work if it’s what a group of people mutually want and are committed to.

* Make it consistent. Same place, same time, if possible. First Thursday of every month, something like that. Then people don't need to pay as much attention to updated plans and figure out if each meetup works for their schedule, they can start expecting it instead.
* Leave time for free conversation. People generally want to make friends more than they want lectures. Lots of useful tips can come out that way, too.
