I thought this may be interesting for those of you with kids, they are giving out free kids helmets too

The Phoenix Fire and Police departments are hosting Bike Rodeo safety adventure and child car seat installation events at the following three locations on Saturday, April 5.

Bike Rodeo and Car Seat Safety
◾8 to 11 a.m.
Pena Elementary School
2550 N. 79th Ave.

Bike Rodeos Only
◾11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Hurley Ranch Elementary School
89th Avenue and Illini Street

◾4 to 7 p.m.
Cesar Chavez Park
35th Avenue and Baseline Road

At the Bike Rodeo events, children between the ages of 5 and 15 will enjoy a skills course to educate them on the rules of the road, crosswalks, dangers and bicycle maintenance. The Bike Rodeo will include free helmet safety instruction, and helmets will be handed out to those in need.

Did you know 80% of child car seats are installed incorrectly?  At the car seat installation event, certified car seat technicians will perform free checks and installations and provide information regarding how to make your child as safe as possible.
