Philly suburbs
« on: March 29, 2012, 06:46:25 PM »
I'm out in Collegeville, out towards King of Prussioa.  Looking for follow mustachians who have the same long term goals of FI.  I also bike a lot, so if you want to meet for a ride let me know.

I'm in Havertown which is a western suburb of philly. It would be great if we could get enough people for a meetup sometime.

Downtown Philly. I bike all the time out to Valley Forge (I'm a racer) so let me know if you'd like to ride!

Another NJ guy but I'm right across the river from Philly. Meet up would be sweet, though I think I'd rather ride my motorcycle over than drive the car with a bike in the back seat.

Lots of people on the thread but no one throwing out dates or places...

I'll take the leap...

Does Saturday afternoon work?  It looks like gorgeous weather for the weekend.   Maybe we could find a park and hang out.   It would be great if we can find a place that had plenty to do (like a riding/walking trail, volleyball courts, jungle gym if people have kids, etc.  Peace Valley Park in Doylestown is great (6 mile loop around a lake)...but no volleyball that I know of.  What does Valley Forge Park have?

Perhaps everyone could bring a dish to share.  BYO drinks and meat (assuming someone has a small grill they can bring)??

Valley Forge has a metric ton of deer. I went through there at night once and we counted 40+ without trying.

I'm tentatively able to do Sat. It would be great to meet some fellow Mustachians. I'll have to see if I can figure out how to secure food to the back of my motorcycle for the trip.

Peace Valley is really nice and close to my house :) Lots of deer all over the burbs . Is this a kid friendly get together?

Peace Valley is about 20 minutes from me.  We have 2 kids ages 12 and 9.  Would love to bring them if others are bringing kids.   Do they have picnic areas w/grills?  I've run that trail many times but never pay attention to what's available for picnics.

Maybe we should pick a date further out so that we can plan it better.  I think only one other person responded.  The challenge with further out into October could be questionable weather for hanging in a park.

If everyone is around Columbus weekend, that would work on our calendar.  Either Saturday or Sunday.

I am a wee-bit south of Center City.  Definitely down for meeting up.  Anywhere bike-able would be great as we are now a 1-car household!

In Lafayette Hill by Conshy.   Bike racer/commuter as well.   If you see the lime green road bike w/rack on the srt/cross county trail I'm out doing errands, say hi.

Any new get togethers?

I am originally from Bucks but I am not stationed in Hawaii. It is pretty awesome to see some many people with these kind of interests in the home town.

Anyone in Philadelphia proper?  I'm in West Philly.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
