Dropping in here to say hi! Currently living in Sydney but fly back home to Perth every now and again so hopefully will be able to attend a MMM meetup sometime in the near future!

Hurro, the boyfriend and I might be able to make this one! As long as I get a good night's sleep (I have developed a terrible habit of sleeping at 5am lately).

I'm a "maybe" for tomorrow. Got an itchy throat that is probably pregnancy related (dehydration + reflux!), but will not attend if it is still here/ looks at all like a cold tomorrow.

Fine :D if I cough at the meetup, it is definitely reflux. Sorry if TMI. But definitely not a cold.

Excellent!

The reflux was driving me mad, midwife had to write down exactly which antacid to take before I'd accept that it was safe... Every box says not to take while pregnant!

Belated post but just want to say it's so nice to finally meet you, nnls! Also Flyingkea and very cute kid, even though we didn't get to talk much sitting on opposite ends of the table.

hi

Is anyone keen for a meetup in June? Or July if June doesnt work?

If we still have a few people who have time off during the week we could organise another mid week one, or a weekend if that suits more people.

My bub won't be six weeks yet (i.e. will not yet be vaccinated) until the end of June so I won't come to a public Meetup until after that point :-) I'll have to catch the next one!

Hey, would love to go to another meetup! I am free mondays, tuesdays and thursdays at the moment. (New job woo!)
If we can, can it please be at a cafe by/in a playground as I will probably have Sir Ed with me, and he will need to be able to wriggle. (Just an example, the riverside koisk at Garvey park. Which has very good reviews btw.)

I am working from 14/6-27/6. So if you have one during that time I wouldnt be able to make it, but would come to one in July if we have one then.

FlyingKea are you also free weekends so Ms Terror could attend? Or only Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays?

Early July is also great. Might be better, in fact (I have a lot of Meet The Baby stuff with family to fit in that isn't organised just yet)

I think there's parks around Burswood casino that should have both parking and public transport?

*Also I should clarify, I'm free during the week for 2nd week of June, I just re-checked the calendar :)

I'm seeing the potential for several meetups here with varying locations and times... I'm unlikely to drive all the way to Garvey Park with an infant (or an infant waiting for me at home) so I'll give that one a miss, but pancakes if a central location is best for you too we could do a cafe or park near you and I bet at least a few others would be keen? Bonus: if it's in or right near the city I can even leave the infant at home, which opens up June for me.

Burswood would be a good location for me.

Right now, I can't do weekends, as rostered on, however as I am casual, if I don't have bookings for a specific weekend day, then I can leave early.

Ooh, I had an idea.
I could run a mushroom growing and ricotta making workshop. Happy to do so at my house (near Midland) or at someone else's if someone more central volunteers.
Maybe a Saturday crafternoon early to mid July?
Both things will be hands-on but dead easy, less effort than, say, making muffins.
Who would be interested?

There is a cafe near Hyde Park on Bulwer Ave which is centralish for probably still not that convenient for more people. Could get takeaway coffees and go to the park, also allows people to bring their own stuff

The bakery on the corner of William Street across the road from Hyde Park, while not particularly cheap for food does coffee if the weather is good for a park meet. Otherwise I know Blacksmith in Mount Lawley has a sandpit and play area, also not particularly inexpensive however.

Hi All.   I'm  keen to join the next meetup.   Now I'm retired I have lots of flexibility around dates and  times :)  Super interested in the mushroom workshop. I've tried a couple of times to growm our own but no luck. Congratulations on the safe arrival of the new  Mustachians.

I think there's a risk here that the perfect will become the enemy of the good... Given the differences in availability across the group I'm not sure it's possible anymore to do one thing that'll suit everyone. I'm going to propose something that should work for at least some people, which is good enough for me (plus: I need a bagel or I will die of bagel deprivation disorder):

Food Monkey brunch on a Saturday or Sunday
Possible dates:
Saturday 17 June
Sunday 18 June
Saturday 24 June
Sunday 25 June

If you're keen to attend this kind of Meetup, let me know which of these dates would work for you!

Organising a more kid-friendly and/or midweek and/or non-city Meetup is someone else's problem, I'm only taking on one organisational challenge at a time ;-)

OK, good point, I will adopt your organisational style.

Mushroom and Ricotta making and Crafternoon Tea
Possible dates:
Sat 1 July
Sat 8 July
Sat 15 July
Could possibly do a Sunday if that suits the interested people better.

About 1pm.

At my house, which is near-ish Midland, I will PM you with an address once we sort out who and when. Public transport is awful, sorry, but you might be able to get one of the others to pick you up from the train station. Open to people who I (or Happier, whose judgement I trust) have met in real life before.

Disclaimer: I haven't actually grown any mushies yet and can't guarantee that I'll not have killed my mushies-in-progress by then; I've just done a workshop that was great at teaching the theory. The mushies-in-progress are currently looking pretty good though. And I can show you round my veggie garden as consolation.

I can do this one! I propose McCallum Park, off Taylor St in Victoria Park. It's close to the Vic Park busport, and should have some parking for people driving. BYO picnic, Weekday event - Monday or Thursday?
Mon: 19 June, 26 June, 3 July
Thurs: 15 June, 22 June, 29 June, 6 July.

I'm free all those dates, not sure if morning, arvo or lunch is best?

Will any of the meetups have any not-yet-vaccinated babies there? Just thought to give this a mention, so that the rest of us can assess the suitability of our attendance if necessary. I had a bunch of shots done in 2014 so I think I'm okay...

15th July is the only one that works for me, so my vote is for that. But I dont know if we have met ? I confused forum names and real life names so not too sure If I am able to come. Though I have met Happier

I suspect I've left it too late and no one will be free :-P

My backup suggestion is Sunday 25th.

OK, we'll be at McCallum Park on 3rd July from 2pm? Does that time work? Didn't want to be in the morning and end up in the sun.
