Hope to see you next time, limeandpepper! :)
For the ladies that were talking about outdoorsy stuff today and making stuff, here's a couple of links to start you off:
-
www.tiergear.com.au (This is an online store run by a guy who sells lightweight gear, DIY supplies and is probably the hammock camping specialist supplier in Australia. There are some DIY instructions on the blog but these are all hammock-related items... including a hammock. The guy who runs it is really nice, is a SAHD and this is a side-hustle that's taken off)
-
www.bushwalk.com (Australian bushwalking forum- covers a broad spectrum of topics and has a DIY section)
- Facebook group 'Hammock Hangers Down-under'-- which is good for FAQ about camping with hammocks in Australia.
- In Perth the groups I think of that might be of interest are Action Outdoors Association (broader activities), Perth Bushwalkers Club, the Bibbulmun Track Foundation, and maybe the Friends of the Cape to Cape.
Am happy to lend out Bibb track maps, Cape-to-Cape maps, and a PLB to people if those sort of things would be useful. I think the Friends of the Cape to Cape have a publication with track notes for short walks on it- I think it's called 'Walking in Circles' or something.
