Tentative. Largely pending dog care, I'm sure. What are Dog into Canada rules like?

However, I should have checked the rules about dogs more carefully before posting. I had no idea our US friends would be interested in coming. Does this mean we're the cool kids?

It looks like dogs are not allowed on the beach in the summer. They're only allowed to walk through, but not stop in, the picnic areas and trails above the waterline. From https://www.crd.bc.ca/parks-recreation-culture/parks-trails/crd-regional-parks/park-usage-rules/pets-in-parks :

Dogs are not allowed to be on a designated beach or picnic area between June 1 and September 15, except to pass through on a leash, without stopping. These are the dog restriction zones:

- Island View Beach Regional Park: all beach areas above the natural boundary of the sea

Today's the day! Meetup at Island View Beach, https://www.centralsaanich.ca/our-community/parks-recreation-culture/parks/island-view-beach-regional-park

From Sidney, drive south towards Victoria on Hwy 17 (Patricia Bay Hwy). Turn left onto Island View Rd (there's a light on the highway).

From Victoria, drive north towards Sidney on Hwy 17 (Patricia Bay Hwy). Turn right onto Island View Rd (there's a light on the highway).

Drive all the way to the end of Island View Rd where you'll find a small parking lot and the beach. Just to the left of the parking lot (when facing the water) is a gazebo. I'll be there wearing a pink sweater and our blue Mexican beach blanket.
