You are welcome Jambon!  It was fun to see everyone!

I second the park idea!  Andrew Hayden, and Vincent Massey both have BBQ pits, and I think a family picnic event would be a hoot.

I have a bocce set, and I have it on good authority that Cdn Ben has some badminton racquets.

I have 1 not-yet broken one (but will be after someone uses it; and two non-breakable ones! + a net) and every other sport item.
Now illegal to sell lawn darts? Heck yes.

I would be interested.

Should we try a park picnic setting?  Bate Island is nice; however, Vincent Massey Park or Andrew Hayden Park have toilet facilities and BBQ pits.
The husband and I are FIRE'd as of April 28, 2017.

I won’t be able to make it; I’m doing doors open Ottawa that weekend. Hope the weather is better that weekend than it’s looking for this weekend.

I'm out that weekend, back home visiting my parents.

I'm unlikely to make it since we're planning to do lots of Doors Open that weekend, but it does sound like fun so I'll be keeping an eye on plans here in case ours change!

I guess Doors open won!

What are people going to see? I`m looking at the Ottawa Valley Wild Bird Care Centre. + The national art center on sunday... possibly the rowing club for the sunset.

Saw the storage hangar at the Aviation Museum and the Canadian Conservation Institute. Both really good picks. Anyone else pleased (or unpleased) with their doors open picks?

Likely no for me.  I have houseguests leaving some time on Sunday, there will be laundry best done on weekend rates.   Also, the F1 in Montreal is a must watch.

We've just returned from our vacation so I have been out of the loop. I'll keep an eye on here for our next meet up date.

Just FYI, a company called ontario home protection is selling carbon offset programs door to door, at the price od 25$/month for 60 months, and trying to lie and tell you that you will receive electricity credits for 45$ which will more than cover it. This is a flat out lie, as they are trying to pass off the OESP (electricity support program for low-income) as part of their program. The saleswoman lied to me multiple times and tried pressuring me into signing right now and taking care of the details after when they called.

Is she invited to the next meet-up?

Seemed like the best way to let ottawa people know. Especially since the 25$ for green initiative in exchange for electricity credits really seemed good to me. Till I realized what they were doing.
