Hey! Shout out if you're in mid-Michigan and would be interested in gathering someplace in/around Lansing. I'll organize. :)

I'm interested. Summer works best for me. Thanks Kahryn for starting this. There's several Michigan posters on the forum now, definitely enough to get a group together. If you want to get together sooner it's possible I could do it over the high school spring break. Actually, that might be a really good time for me.

Ok everyone I'm looking at Saturday, June 10 for a meet-up. Let's take location suggestions! I'll start.
- The river front area near City Market in Lansing and Valhalla Park in Holt are both accessible by River Trail, although apt to be a little crowded;
or
- Padgett Park in DeWitt and Burchfield Park in Holt are big natural areas (I know Burchfield also allows beverages if they're in cans) that are a bit off the beaten path, somewhat less accessible by bike.
I believe all four of those places have grills and picnic tables. I'll take a handful more suggestions and then we can put it to a vote.
I'll also throw out some proposed dates for a monthly meet-up for those who are available:
March: Sunday the 12th at 1pm, hiking in Anderson Park
April: Saturday the 8th at 10am, walk the River Trail (meet at parking lot at Grand River and Turner in Old Town)
May: Date TBD; group ride and knowledge share re: bike riding skills and maintenance
June: Date TBD; potluck party and knowledge share re: gardening/canning/home brewing etc.

Thanks for organizing this! June 10 would probably work for me. I am familiar with Burchfield, I mountain bike so I've been there before as well as Anderson park. It's also a little closer for me, I'm in Jackson, however I'm fine with the Lansing location too. Is anyone planning to bring spouse? Kids? or just flying solo? Thanks

I am just north of Lansing and am interested in meet-ups. Hopefully I can make some of the ones planned. Is there a specific location you will be at in Anderson Park? Don't know if I can make that one yet, but I would like to.

June 10 works for us. We're excited to meet some more like-minded folks!
My wife and I planned the Lansing Bike & Seek last year (a scavenger hunt around the city on bikes) and this year's will probably take place on a Saturday in June, but we won't pick the 10th.

outdoors - there's a kiosk across the road from the green loop entrance. we could meet there.

Hey ya'll I'm still eyeing this thread. I'm scheduled to work April 8th and June 10th. No worries.
Is anyone available to do a river trail walk the weekend before April 8th? On either April 1st or 2nd (that is Saturday or Sunday) at the same time of 10am?

April 8 actually no longer works for me, but I'll stay posted to see if I can tag along to the walk on 4/1 or 2!

I am in the Lansing area, would be interested in meeting up.
Not sure if June 10th will work for me, as I am traveling all week leading up to that. It would be great to get a semi-regular meeting going in Lansing (2-3 times a year?)

I can't meet up tomorrow anymore, I have out-of-state family visiting.
However, good fodder for 'family who doesn't get it': family member complains endlessly about their Audi for years. Many recalls, thousands of dollars paid in non-maintenance repairs. What do they do when it's time to upgrade? Buy another Audi. Geez.

Our fair city is in the finals for Parking Madness 2018! This contest is drawing attention to the fact that our downtown is basically composed of several large parking lots. May the best city win (and hopefully us!) - the idea being to shame our city in to doing better =D

I lived in Lansing, Okemos, East Lansing, Haslett and Bath*, over 10 year period.
Just reliving old times. :-)

Trying to set up something more formal since I still wanna meet some mustachians in real life! What about a picnic in a park in the Lansing area some evening? Wonch park is pretty cool with lots of picnic tables and a paved walking path but it's pretty far east depending on where people live. Any interest in say June 28th? Around 6pm?

The Ann Arbor mustachians have a google group that works better to organize meet-ups. I always forget to check replies to old threads I've commented on on the forums here. I started one for Lansing:
