I live in the City and work in Linglestown.  But I grew up in Elizabethtown.  Sweet to know there is at least someone local.

Read some of your most recent post.  We are expecting our 2nd Child any day now.  My wife was due 2 weeks ago.  Having a home birth this time around.  The 2nd child really scares me for some of the reason's you mentioned.  Our 1st has been a very easy kid but keeps us busy as he has energy like no other.  Not sure if I want to go past 2 kids or not.  We have time to decide.

Welcome to the area, I saw you recently moved to the area from another state.  Maybe once our 2nd is born and we give it a few weeks or so, I can host an event. Even if it's only two families.

I live nearby in Mechanicsburg, PA.  I have been reading MMM for 2-3 years now and have read some posts on the forum from time to time, I just started forum posting recently.

I'm also from Mechanicsburg, PA! I've been reading MMM for 2 years and it's helped us go from negative NW to over 100k!

Our 2nd Baby is doing well.  Took her out in the vehicle for the first time last night.

I want to set up a meet for our area.  Just wanted to throw some ideas around.  I don't know how soon, the SO is still recuperating and we are still getting our share of free meals from friends and families among all my other projects.

My initial thought is to just invite everyone to my home.  We have a large home but my initial concern is some of you may not want to wander into the City.  I live on 5th street not far from the Governors mansion.  I consider it safe but some do not.  The next thought is to meet at a pub or bar down town or outside of the city.  That's fine for me.  But that isn't as Mustachian.

Also what is the best time a week night or a weekend night?

Any thoughts?

I would be glad to host just want to fore warn that I do live In the City.

I have lived in mechanicsburg for about 2 years now and I think I have been to Harrisburg maybe once or twice ever.  It sounds like you are in an urban area where parking could be an issue if you have 4 cars visiting your place at the same time.

Would you consider meeting in a cafe or fast-food type place that has a decent sized parking lot?  I am not too familiar if such places are around in Harrisburg. Maybe your spouse could watch the baby for a hour or so.  Also this meetup is a bit tricky because it sounds like based upon the responses that people are scattered across a wide area.  Those are my thoughts and opinions about it.

I don't have a problem meeting anywhere.  Parking at my house isn't a problem, plenty of on street and a church parking lot across the street.  But I do realize some may not want to venture into the City especially to my area.  My wife also might appreciate not having a bunch of strangers over as well.

My initial thought is maybe the Diner on Front Street in Harrisburg, or at one of the restaurants across the river.  My thought is to keep it simple.  I have to get a time frame as well, is there a night or day that works the best.

There is a restaurant across from the Governors mansion used to be called Chicago Grill that has an excellent menu.  It is open on Saturdays, maybe meat one Saturday morning for Breakfast.  You can just order coffee if you want.  Has a parking lot.

I just wanted to give a quick update that I will not be able for attend for a meetup for awhile.  I have some DIY insulation and other house projects going on right I need to get done before winter is here, especially with family, and working full time.  Thus, I have a bit too much on my plate right now, you guys can go ahead and have a meetup anytime without me.  I will post on here in the future if I am available.  Thanks.

Hey all, I was going to start a new thread but I thought this one was close enough so I decided to revive it. My sister and I are in Lancaster and would love to plan a meetup. We're free during the day on Sunday, May 31 and wanted to throw that date out there and see if anyone else was free. If you're interested in coming here we'd be happy to pick a place to get together (park/coffeeshop/whatever), or depending on where you live we could maybe meet you halfway. Anyone interested? If no one can make it we'll try again another time!

I don't know if it's too late, but I like this idea! I don't like to frequent restaurants, but I happen to live in Wormleysburg, and I am right near those restaurants. So meeting in a public place couldn't be much easier for me than Duke's or Dockside!

I've lived in Lebanon, Lancaster and Dauphin counties - unfortunately now I'm in Bucks County (which is great, but I left behind so many Harrisburg friends!)

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
