Any Mustachians in the East Bay or close by?  Would love to meet up with some like-minded people!

You'll meet a million accidentally mustachian people in Berkeley, but I could be game for an east bay meetup.  I think most are in South Bay, but there are definitely some SF people too.  I just moved further east, though.

I live in San leandro, will be interested in meeting up, preferably somewhere within walking/biking distance to BART.

Perhaps somewhere in downtown Berkeley right off BART?  The next couple weeks work best for me as I'll be traveling a bit for work come mid-November.

I'm in the east bay, just discovered MMM a little over a month ago, and would love to have a meetup! Let's do it!

neurotrp--Since you started this, maybe you get the privilege of picking a date/time. What do you say?

Apologies all for the delayed reply.  Was traveling for work.  I'd certainly be happy to set something up but my work schedule for the next few weeks is a bit up in the air.  I'll see if I can get something planned in the next couple of weeks - any preference for the day of the week to meet?

Most evenings work for me, and often I have time on the weekend. Just depends on the specific date. Put out a few possible dates and we can all respond. Thank you!

Hello,
I'm a graduate Design student at Stanford working on a research project exploring the way short term debt impacts the quality of people's lives. If you've had credit card debt in the past but have made the decision to live without credit cards now my team and I would love to talk to you about how and why you made the transition.
Looking forward to some thoughtful conversations about the role of debt in our culture and how financial cycles might/could/should be improved through mustaches!

Please reply to this post or email me at mpd@stanford.edu if you're interested in participating

... Are you planning a meetup?  I don't think any here have quit credit cards, we typically see them as a useful tool

After the MMM meetup in Heron's Head Park on 2014-05-23, we assembled a contact spreadsheet, a Google Group email list, and a Google+ Community.

Things have been quiet since last June, but we're planning another meetup or two for March and April.  If you have an idea for a time and place on Sunday, shoot it out on the list and you might find some interested people that don't visit the forum regularly.

We're having another meetup!  Poll results for this weekend: 22 for Saturday, 20 for Sunday.  My girlfriend and I will be in the Marx Meadow picnic area in Golden Gate Park tomorrow at 2pm.  I'll be available at 424-243-6344 and also switch on the Republic Wireless 3G.  Non-glass alcohol is permitted there, and we'll bring something to share :)

Topics suggested for discussion:
  • The messed up Bay Area real estate economy (and potential for another crash)
  • Bay Area-specific ways of saving
  • Preventing bike theft
  • Favorite finance books, blogs, wikis, &etc
  • Philosophical disagreements with MMM
  • DIY projects and skills and how you acquired them
  • Cooking!
  • Traveling for cheap
  • Ideas for side income
  • Expense and savings tracking tools
  • Financing the time between retirement and Age 59.5
This has been cross-posted to the Bay Area Mighty Mustachians Meetup (BAMMM) list, and several people have already confirmed they can make it.  Come on out and be social!

We can put something together for later in April too, perhaps in the East Bay!
