Denver Oct 6-8
« on: September 22, 2016, 09:35:15 AM »
Hello,

DW and I are driving through Denver area for a few days after checking out the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. We are wondering if anyone wants to meet up and hang out some time while we are there?

We will be camping near Denver, locations yet to be determined as we are trying to do different spots on the way out of CO. We would appreciate if anyone has any recommendations. The lists on the links below look promising! We thought about Cherry Creek but have heard some not-so-good reviews of late. We may book out Saturday and camp on the 70 (Glenwood Springs) or Arches in Utah.

no recommendations, but just be aware that's the same weekend as Great American Beer Fest in Denver

Yay GABF! Book soon because camping in the foliage season can be tight. If you are hoping for dispersed camping for free please be sure to check the fire restrictions. Most of the counties banned fires outside of campgrounds in July/August for the rest of the season. Some places this even applies to propane camping stoves. This in turn, has caused a ton of campgrounds to be fully booked weeks in advance. I don't think they've been lifted yet.

Thanks for the heads up. We will probably mostly avoid downtown unless something brings us in... we will be hitting up Denver Biscuit Co for breakfast some day and some excursions to Boulder and the Oskar Blues Brewery in Longmont.
