It was nice meeting you all. My apologies about having to leave so early.

Posting to follow.  DH and I have lived in the Dallas area for a little bit now and I would love to get in if another meetup is planned.

Anyone still monitoring this thread?  I live in NE FTW and just checking in to see if there is much local activity here.

Well it's probably time to do another meetup. I'm voting for March 25 or April 15. Any interest?

Long time MMM reader living in N Fort Worth... Wish I would have looked for this a long time ago (been here for 6 years now)... but alas, I must move to the promised land, yes, that land approx 15 miles south of Longmont, CO, where I can live in the wise ones shadow.  JK, but seriously, I am moving to Denver area and wish I could have met some of you people before this, I'll be gone by the end of March.  You guys all take care and keep the FIRE dream alive!

Dude, good for you. DFW sucks for recreational activities unless you like going to malls and restaurants all the time. Getting a house in the mountains west of Denver/Boulder is our FI/RE plan.

So 1 vote for 3/25, 1 for 4/15, 2 votes for either, and 1 vote to FIRE in Colorado.

I probably should have also asked for location preferences. We're in east Dallas

First time checking in here.  My brother and I currently live in Irving (Las Colinas).  I am definitely down for a meet up any day and time.  The only thing that may prevent my attendance is some travel (pleasure) I've been putting off for far too long.

I'm in Royse City, so East is preferred on the weekend.
I work in North Dallas, so more central works better during the week.

How about 3/25 at the same place we did last time - Intrinsic BBQ and Brewery in downtown Garland?

Lunch or dinner?

I'd like to go to this meetup. Intrinsic sounds good, I don't have a preference between lunch or dinner.

The date and location work for me.  I would prefer lunch, but dinner would also work.

I would love to attend.  Evenings are better to work around the kids' sports schedules.  I'm in Tarrant county, so somewhere west of downtown is preferable, but I'm flexible on location date and time.

Oh no!  I missed the meetup in March.  I wonder if there is a way to subscribe to this thread so I don't miss messages.

I'd love to have a DFW meetup on the Ft. Worth side of town.  Perhaps at one of the many amazing parks out here in the vastness of mid-cities suburbia.  Any interests?  There are a few options with some shade and near the cotton belt trail bike path.  Perhaps Northfield park or McPherson Park?  Many very nice public space options in Grapevine/Southlake/Keller area as well.  The green space behind Keller Town Hall is great for hiking and biking.

New to the 'Stache' here.  I am in the Mid Cities area, just south of Keller.  Have biked that area many times.  Good way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I continue to fail to make these..

I say pick a Saturday at a mid-cities brewery (Grapevine?) and enough people will show up, even cross-post this with the ChooseFI group on Facebook.

*Internet fist bump to the Lakewood-based NAEByrd85*

Alrighty Mustachians, I feel the urge to organize people again.

If we're going to be meeting up at a brewery or something indoors, August is a workable timeframe (the Saturdays are the 12th, 19th, and 26th). If we want to do anything outside, let's meet up at 8 am or save it for the fall when it isn't disgustingly hot (early October?)

Is there a good mid-cities brewery you'd recommend chasesfish (or anyone else)?

For the sake of planning, here's the places we've been or have been recommended -

Dallas and East - the center of the world according to anyone from Dallas:
Dallas: Margaret Hunt Bridge/Trinity Groves (walking around, some kid friendly options, semi-outdoor/indoor), Henk's/Half Price Books visit (German food, 75 and Hwy 12, pure indoor)
Garland: Intrinsic BBQ and Brewery (BBQ, indoor)

North - don't miss your exit or you end up in Oklahoma:
Richardson: Jeng Chi (Chinese food, indoor)

Mid-cities - somewhere in between and closer to the airport:
Grapevine: green space behind Keller Town Hall (outdoor biking/hiking), Northfield or McPherson Park (biking/hiking)

Fort Worth and West - better than Dallas according to anyone from Fort Worth
<needs suggestions>

Feel free to add to this list.

Here's the most centralized place for anyone in DFW to get to in 30 minutes - opens at noon on Saturdays.  The closer to noon the better to coner some inside space
