I'll be in Victoria for some sweet mountain biking and hoping to meet up with a few MMM folks. There will be 3 of us for sure and we are meeting at Whole Foods. They have a dining section, beer and other libations.

6 for sure....might even be as high as 8 I think over the course of one of the Spinnackers events, but I think only 6 at a time as some people came early and some people came late.

I would say 8 at one time or 9 over the whole event would be a new record.

There are a few of us in Victoria that have connected on Facebook through the group, Van Isle Mustachians. We've organized a meetup in Vic this Monday Oct. 22nd 7 pm at the Victoria Curling Club. All are welcome to attend. Unfortunately, I'll be away at work Nov 3rd.

No. We just meet in the veggie section and sit on pumpkins. It's pretty comfy. ;-)

RC is so helpful ;-) The restaurant section is basically just a cafeteria. There's a sandwich counter, a pizza counter and then a bunch of self serve buffet isles of all kinds of soups, curries, Chinese food, etc. You pick out what you want and then pay for it at the normal grocery tills. Then there's a bunch of tables in that section where you can eat.

Whole Foods will be great for Fire45 and of course I'm at like 6 months meat free now (not vegan) and loving it. But I buy discount fruit and veggies and whatever is on sale, this will be my first time ever in a Whole Foods. My beard will be longer by then and I do have some skinny jeans to blend in...got the EV so they will think I am one of them :)

It's a nice place to have a beer, and while it may be the world's most expensive grocery store (probably not though, try Urban Fare or Meinhardt in Vancouver for example) it's still less expensive for snacks and meals than almost any restaurant.

Chaplin, it is just another source of information for others to collaborate and educate while discussing topics, just like here. For many it's easier to use that as a platform they already use.

Facebook private groups do have these advantages
- files can be uploaded and get stored in one location (ie AA rebalancing spreadsheets)
- can create polls
- can upload images much easier
- can create events
- can share articles and links much easier

The one thing that the forums have here is that there is a higher level of anonymity, less public knows about it and financial information flows a bit more freely.

I am looking forward to seeing the Victoria regulars and meeting all the new people.

I was going to wear a hoodie but since you insist I will wear my red plaid....oh and I trimmed the beard a bit so not sure what status level it is currently at :)

Hope the MTBers have a good ride today and I'm heading out to do a 18km run .... I'll have an appetite for tonight for sure.

Thanks for the invite and fun discussion. It was nice to meet everyone, even if the group was too big to truly interact with all.

We have one more day in Victoria before we head back to the States. If anyone has walkable destinations we should check out (neighborhoods in particular), DM me.

Just another place to connect and share, I'm not great at following in the forum. I find FB is easier as I follow some other FIRE related groups there. Hopefully, I'll be in town for the next meetup.
