Why are Admiral shares better?
« on: January 03, 2019, 08:31:13 PM »
Hello helpful folks,

In learning mode here.  Why are Vanguard Admiral shares better?  Is it the lower expense ratios?  Or something else?

Thanks for your feedback.

It used to be for the lower expense ratios. Now the Investor class is being merged into Admiral, and Admiral will be the only class.

To sufficiently answer your question we need to know what you are comparing the Admiral shares against? Radagast gave a good answer for a comparison against the Investor shares.

Yes, that's correct.  It's like buying in bulk.  You get a better deal.

Gondolin is running around somewhere... I remember others too but not who they were

Also I was incorrect to say that Investor Shares are disappearing. All of the popular index funds are moving to Admiral only, but the actively managed, balanced, money market, and esoteric funds are keeping investor shares.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
