Well I think after today that we can put to bed any idea of Cryptos as a safehaven asset.
In the past 5 days, BTC dropped from $8000 to $4600.  At some point, it might be worth buying one.

When they pay me to take one?

I'm not sure to understand. The fact that usd/eur/... is backed by the governement doesn't warranty it's value either. I think nothing as a warranted value. Neither usd or bitcoin. The fact that it's backed by government make you sure that you'll be able to exchange almost everything against usd, but doesn't warranty it's value.

The value of money comes from the value created by its widespread acceotance.
But most people forget that your local paper money ensures your freedom! It is the only currency your government will accept to pay your obligations (tax). If you cant, you will be punished (here that means you go to jail or face severe monetary sanctions, which in case you cant pay them will result in jail).
Bitcoin hasnt got this value.

With all the weird, obscure coin names out there, I’m sure Get Outta Jail Coin either already exists or will pop up on the crypto currency exchanges soon, not that it’ll mean anything.

When it drops to a dollar I might be interested.

That's right.   Then it will only be trading for one dollar more that it's actual worth!
