I bearly check this thread, but today definitely was the start of a nice leg down. Buckle up, fellow wageslaves.
Fun day today! (S&P 500 down 0.71%) I hope tomorrow is just like it - I have a 401k contribution going in.

It does look like S&P 4500 is going to take a little longer…. Of course, the 52 week low (in the midst of this crazy COVID rally) was ~3200!
solon PDXTabs, I'm usually a jesting bear, but with what's going on in the world, I don't see things looking rosy in the near term at least. Last year we had quite the ride from highs in August into October.

But if the stock market can hit record highs during the depths of a global pandemic, what's going to stop the Fed put now? Perhaps actual sustained inflation? But I agree, perhaps the market has gotten ahead of itself and I would welcome some discounted equities for my 26 buys per year.
Nasdaq top is in

If you can figure out how to click buy while holding your phone upside down you can invest in equities which have never been more undervalued.

I can sell all my equities, turn my phone upside down, buy at all time lows, then turn my phone right side up, then sell at all time highs?? Is this how market timing works? Why is everyone so opposed to this on this forum? Seems pretty fool proof.

Wait.. I'm confused what day it is.. didn't we almost hit a new high today?
"The S&P 500 recently hit its 50th all-time high of the year and it’s only August. That’s the second most for any year (through August) since 1950."https://ofdollarsanddata.com/are-we-in-a-melt-up/
Another 17% in the second half would be nice..:)
2021 feels like it's been a lot longer than most years, so maybe we've just had more time to hit all-time highs than we usually do between January and August.

Invest all your money next year when the market is down 17% and you can enjoy withdrawing it all a few decades later when it’s down 99%. Perfect for accumulators
Made it to 4500, sold everything… Top has finally arrived. Congrats to all the diamond hands that made it…
