Happy anniversary, Top!
A year ago today the S&P opened at 2353.92,
and Thorstach let us all know the top was in.
Today the S&P will open at 2656.87,
an increase of 12.87% from a year ago.
If you had told me a year ago that the market was going to be up 12.9% over the next 12 months, I probably would have said "Sure, sounds reasonable. I like your optimism!"
If you had told me a year ago that the market was going to be up 23% and then crash 10% in a week, I would have been skeptical about the proposed volatility but still pretty happy about the end result. "You're going to scare people, but I see you're still an optimist at heart."
If you had told me a year ago that the top was in, I
would have said you were wrong.
The past 12 months have been fantastic to stock buyers, volatility and all. I'm riding the wave all the way to the bank. Thorstach, Mrpercentage, and all the rest of you permabears, please continue to cry loudly about the coming Armageddon. I need more willing sellers to make my retirement strategy work, and your voices are making it much easier to get rich these days. We are living in the golden age of early retirement.
