Ice cream investing? Is that what fat FIRE means?
Quote from: BicycleB on May 13, 2020, 12:11:47 PMIce cream investing? Is that what fat FIRE means? That would be CREAM (Cash Rules Everything Around Me) FIRE. This is for those that believe the top is in, permanently, and are in cash for the rest of their lives.

But do you really believe they'll have enough physical cans backing up those sardine ETFs when the FSHH hits the fan?Are the sardines already in cans? I would do more research before jumping into the sardine market. It could be a really stinky mistake if you get stuck taking physical delivery of un-refrigerated sardines. I know my neighbors might be unhappy. That's why it's so important of staying on top of rolling your sardines over (to your neighbor's backyard).

Quote from: DadJokes on May 09, 2020, 12:49:03 PMThis seems so bizarre to me. I know one sonogram technician that was furloughed for a month or so (went back May 1) and an oil company employee whose hours were reduced. Aside from that, I don't know anyone who is not working.Hey @DadJokes here is some more quantitative data from a study that came out on Thursday. In Michigan 27% of their labor force have filed for unemployment just since March 14th (so less than a month). In Georgia, Hawaii, and Kentucky, one in three people have filed for unemployment. States like Colorado and Texas are comparatively much better off with on the order of one out of every eight workers having filed for unemployment so far.

That 100$ milkshake doesn't even look appealing. It's like . . . driving all the boys away from the yard.

Then you save on your sewer bill and your vegetables are super tasty. Spending a little time digging gold and other precious metals out of the compost is definitely mustachian!Just make sure to let your compost cure for a few weeks before digging through it. Divergence between Dow and Nasdaq yesterday & today does not bode well for a continuation of the short term uptrend. Short term top is in (he said famously).
You guys will hate me, but I'm trading the top. Bought two put options for $SPY at $291, expiring June 30 of this year. So far the top appears to be, well, not in.
