New closing top is in.  The Top is dead, long live the Top !

Which ticker are you people using to verify that the top is in?  Does it include reinvested dividends?

Just checking, but you do know this entire thread is a joke right?

Like there is no real top, and if there is its lasts a few years before the market marches higher to set a new top...:)

Uh, sorry to break it to you but this entire thread is dead serious.  Maybe you need to recalibrate your humor detection circuits?

Damn.. I better sell everything then!

That’s what I’ve been saying!  But it does seem like today is slightly up, so sell today not yesterday.  And if we are up tomorrow, then sell tomorrow not today.  Top is in.

Nope, if the bottom is up, you missed your chance.  You want the bottom is down thread. :)

Q1 GDP was 3.2% vs 2.1% expected. I hope everyone sold at yesterday's top.

Glad I waited for today's top to not sell! I even bought .05 shares of VOO. I'm going to go down in flames.

I’m confused now.  Should I be not selling or not buying today?

We may have to wait a bit, he usually appears after 2 days of -1-2% in a row to declare the Top is in again, just in time for the bear trap to kick in and markets to continue going up.

So this has probably been discussed elsewhere, but we are now at the point where if we get another drop like 2008, we will still be at or above the 2007 “top”

New high market close on Friday, new intra-day high today. Guess the top wasn't in last September after all.

Apple's numbers were above line and April employment was +100k over estimates, should have sold last Friday's top.

Good thing you didn't- last Friday's top is the old top. S&P is up another 5+ points since then, so today is the new top.

It's definitely all downhill from here though.

The market going up at the beginning of the year means that it will go down at the end of the year. Unless it doesn’t.

Trying to calling tops and bottoms is a waste of time.  I am a little jealous of the 100-80% stock allocation crowd these days.  But perfectly content with my smoother ride portfolio with allocations in non traditional groups like market neutral, managed futures, swan defined risk and precious metals.  Enjoy the ride.

The top is not in yet, but it will be shortly:

We're for sure going to melt-up, but then the top will be in.

Those blue lines form an arrow pointing in the direction of the TOP.  Looks to me it is S&P hitting 3000 around the 21st of May according to the blue line....

Isn’t that technically a TRIPLE GOAT MOAT?  I agree with techwiz that it appears we are in for a quadruple goat moat and beyond.  The top will always be in, of course, but there’s no law saying the top can’t get higher over time.  Fight me

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
