The VIX, TLT, DXY, SPY, QQQ and the Dow are showing the greatest of all time mother of all tops (GOAT MOAT) is in.

The S&P 500 is up 4.7% since the GOAT MOAT was in.

Uh, new NASDAQ top ya'll.

Thorstach has come to me in a vision. The letters "Nasdaq" towered over me, graven in stone, larger than Stonehenge.  Above them, like a dark and stormy cloud, were words of wisdom from Thorstach.  Something about VIX and ratios and inverted (something obscured by billowing smoke), and that this is the last and highest top that will ever exist.

Was you vision something like this?

Maybe it not all bad news after the storm there could be a rainbow!

Yes, @techwiz. That is a frighteningly accurate depiction. Thank you for your ominous assistance.

Fear is back, VIX above 15, XIV breaking down. SPY to follow, earnings will be a reality check.

For reference, here is my net worth (80% S&P 500), since this thread started:

A rainbow would be very appropriate since they go up, hit a top, and then come right back down and hit the ground.

Saw this flash across my screen on the CNN website:

"Dow sinks 196 points, falling for 8th day in a row. Longest losing streak since March 2017. Nasdaq drops nearly 1%."

OMG!!!   We're doomed!   Doomed, I tell you!   Doomed!

Extreme FEAR

Extreme GREED

Are we at "The TOP" of Fear or Greed?

I found this https://money.cnn.com/data/fear-and-greed/
we are not at the "TOP" for extreme fear or greed!

If it goes extreme one way of or the other we could follow Warren's advice.

P.S. I haven't found an index for Extreme GOAT yet!

S&P is back up to where it was in mid-January.

Wondering if we'll finally break out of this sideway trend.

Just something to note, the name of the thread is "Top is in" not "THE top is in."  I wonder if that is significant.  Maybe it's just about ordinary every day tops, not THE top.

Of course, we did supposedly have THE mother of ALL tops after the goat moat, but many mothers are kind and gentle, so maybe we misunderstood what kind of top the mother of all tops is.  Maybe it's a "You just wait 'til your father gets home" situation.

GOAT MOAT confirmed

The NBER does not officially designate a recession based on two consecutive quarters of observed negative GDP growth (a common misconception), but on a "variety of monthly indicators." In somewhat similar fashion, thorstach officially confirms the GOAT MOAT based on a variety of candlestick graphs and spidey senses that the philistines in this forum are simply not able to comprehend.

Both the recession and GOAT MOAT designations are always assigned retrospectively for the purposes of historical reference and/or forum amusement.

Nope I am still having a problem comprehending, but pretty sure it's has to do with timing the market!
