Blue corn tortillas huh? I am intrigued. Will have to try to track down either those or blue corn flour to give it a shot.

I mean *ahem* since in the coming afterscape from the total stock market collapse into which we have only just begun to slide tortillas, rice, and beans will all be unaffordable luxuries and all.

Blue corn chips are delicious. So are blue corn tortillas. Chips top is in.

Naturally blue corn chips are blue because they are aflatoxin flavored.  Not recommended.

Now if you're just buying the artificially blue chips that are dyed to LOOK like the carcinogenic naturally blue chips, that's probably fine.  Unless they're dyed with any of the top three blue food dyes used in the US, all of which are also known carcinogens in lab animals.  They're banned in the EU, but Americans loooove their aflatoxin chips.

And cheese.  Don't forget about cheese

Top is still in btw, just in case there was any doubt

Naturally blue corn chips are blue because they are made from varieties of corn which produce high concentration of the plant pigment anthocyanin (particularly in the pericarp so it's a lot easier to make the chips blue if they are quote-unquote whole grain which is why I was surprised blue corn tortillas would work well). Anthocyanin is also an antioxidant, which is the justification people use for arguing blue corn, and purple carrots/cauliflowers are better for you. Honestly I don't know that the concentrations are high enough to matter biologically, but that's besides the point.

Now most super high anthocyanin lines are know of aren't particularly well adapted to being grown in the midwestern corn belt. In addition, most (all?) blue corn also doesn't have any bt traits, so they get more insect damage, which provides more places for the Aspergillus fungus that makes the alfatoxin to get into the ear and start growing. Anyway, long story short it wouldn't strike me as totally implausible if someone has done a study and found that blue corn tends to have more alfatoxin than regular yellow #2 corn, but I'd still be curious to see the study if you have it handy.

lol, of course "maizeman" would get so sucked into a discussion about corn that he forgets to even mention that the TOP IS IN.

Beware of GMDs (Genetically Modified Dividends) and artificial earnings flavorings, as the dead cat meltup renders most starches especially vulnerable to derivative fungi. Top is in.

The only way for me to source this information for you would be for me to contact one of my ex-girlfriends from graduate school who talked about this topic waaaay too much, and I'm sorry but as much as I like you this is just not going to happen.  She's a nice lady and all, and getting more and more famous (as academics go) every year, but I'm not about to call her up and say "Hey, this corn guy on the internet is interested in your blue chip fetish."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Okay, fair enough. I try to avoid contacting any of my exes about their fetishes as well.

Well (some) blue corn may have althete's foot or at least its 2nd cousin once removed, but that isn't what makes it blue. And you can certainly get bad batches of white or yellow corn with the same issue caused by the same fungus. Testing for alfatoxin is important -- and scary -- regardless of the color of your corn. <-- remember this when you're trading your last gold coin (you did pull all of your money out of the market and convert it into gold right at the top didn't you?) for a bag of corn flower in the desolate wastelands america is soon to become as the mother-of-all-tops recedes into a fable told to children gathered around a fire made from burning tires of a more civilized, golden age.

Blue popcorn is good too (popped, it is white but with a slight bluish tinge). Although the kernels are so small and light they blow out of my air popper. Topcorn.

So not only has it taken the top callers X number of years to become right (finally) it has also taken the "inflation is out of control" callers a similar number of years to be right.

Love the guessing game.

I thought this was going to be the case, too. And yet as of almost 2PM Eastern time, the S&P is up just over 1%. And VIX has dropped below 20 (historical average, though still above most of 2017).

If I understood this, I wouldn't be in index funds, and would be a billionaire. *shrug*

A confirmed downtrend from all time highs is anything but noise, fellow. Anyway, there goes support and VXX breakout going into a long weekend.

If you're not going to put your money where your mouth is, at least add your concrete prediction to this thread so we can all laugh at how bad it is. (along with all the others too, including mine, so there won't be any reason to feel bad about being wrong)  And hey, maybe you'll actually be right!  Stranger things have happened.

https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/investor-alley/calling-the-top/

Mine is not a prediction but an analysis based on facts and charts to conclude that we have already seen the top of this bull rally. Posting in that thread would be "cheating" since i've made the call after the fact.

Still one of my favorite thorstach posts.  We certainly don't want any "cheating" since he had already made his conclusion.
