YOLO?  Is that some kind of trendy, expensive frozen yogurt?

1. I think it is.
2. It's the name of the county in CA where I went to school.
3. I thought for years that the two might be related until someone explained it was an acronym.

It is indeed an acronym:

Aka top is in

Now this is just getting ridiculous.

You can't go 100% bacon. Jumping straight into the frying pan like that will get you burned to a crisp.

Don’t change your AA just because you’ve read some admittedly brilliant analyses here and all the talking heads on TV are screaming “Bacon!” - A disciplined investor has an INvestor Policy STatement (IPS) that outlines their AA,and they stick to the plan.

No, no. Look at the acronym. He's talking about an INPST. Totally different.

Is that "stick to the plan" or "stick to the pan"?  You need to season the pan better.

If you're 100% in bacon I think you need to diversify into avocado toast.  I don't think the top is quite in on it yet.

You have to keep an eye on new products creating stock correlations all the time, I'd sell everything as these are now extremely correlated (if I hadn't already sold because top was in this morning).

It's even worse here in QUebec - we've got the MSE (Minestčre du Sirup d'Érable).  You absolutely do not mess with the MSE.  One guy is serving an 8 year prison sentence for stealing maple syrup and running afoul of the MSE.

I'd never had bacon dipped in maple syrup until a couple years after I got married. I don't know whether to kiss DH for introducing me to something so delicious, or kill him for being right about how awesome it is.

Today's CNBC story: "Fearful millennials are finally ready to take a chance on the stock market" means the top is *really* in.

Just great.  The most timid investment generation in a century is going to get in now, and in a year or three we're likely to see a correction. Many will never trust "the market" again.

I've been in the market since 2010 and just keep investing whenever possible (late 20's millennial).

By contrast, I have a co-worker who I just learned is late 60's and he pulled all of his retirement investments out in February of '09 (couldn't take the crash anymore) and has refused to put anything back in because he doesn't trust financial markets anymore and think it's all a scam.

With my permission, I'm staying on the contract as a consultant.   Because of certain periodic background checks that are a requirement where I've been working, and the fact that our area isn't on the "cool list", it can be a real problem to quickly recruit suitable talent.   By keeping me on the contract the certification for those background checks remains intact.  If their DBA or programmer leaves or gets hit by a bus, I can fill in for a couple of months while they recruit.    Obviously, they can't make me do it if I don't want to.   But keeping those background checks certified means it's much, much easier for me to find a job if I need one.   Pretty much guaranteed I could find one pretty quickly if I wanted one and was willing to travel.   If not, pretty much means I could find one locally within a year.

It's a win-win-win for me, the customer and the company.

I have had my manager try to bribe me stay longer with our first salary action in a year and a half.    I said, I can't accept it as a bribe.     Manager then asked, will you start looking for work after the summer?   - This despite the "I no longer need the financial support of Semi-Big Corp" in my letter.   I told the Manager that he would be the first person I'd call if I did, but don't wait for it.

I confidently predict "The TOP is IN" May 31, 2018 --- my last working day.

Not much different from the Canadian flag, TBH - giant maple leaf in the center with maple syrup running down the leaves and a stack of pancakes at the underneath.  Then the motto: Acernis ultima nostra est sanguisi

Fear is back, VIX above 15, XIV breaking down. SPY to follow, earnings will be a reality check.

Original post, quoted for comedy.  Seriously, I read that, it sounds so ominous and convincing and even a bit mysterious.  Then I look at what the stock market has done since April of last year.

It's amazing how confidently, breathtakingly wrong someone can be.

You think it sounded ominous and convincing? I've been reading it off and on for almost a year and can't get past the bad grammar. I still have no idea what he said.
