I'd prefer to go with a bacon terminology

"Boy, this market is really getting crispy!"

That bacon slice has multiple tops, but no discernable upward or downward trend. Definitely a sideways slice with multiple tops.
Otherwise what's known as stagnant bacon.

Would that honestly be a bad thing?

If you are accumulating bacon, no it would be great.

Bacon 'stache!  A whole new meaning to Mmm

Studies show itís better to lump-sum into bacon, if you have that option available to you.

Roughly 80% of the time the result is (wait for it...)... more bacon!

I know itís an unpopular opinion around here, but yíall should consider adding a little cheese to your portfolio.  Yeah, technically all bacon will maximize the total amount of bacon consumed over your lifetime, but it doesnít account for the increased chance that sometimes you will run out of bacon completely.  Iíd rather have a little bacon everyday than a ton of bacon when I die

Clearly a bubble and very irresponsible advice. Sure, the cheese is great technology but there are so many cheeses available it just doesn't make sense right now.

Yeah, lump sum on average gets you more bacon, but the spread of possible outcomes is wider than if you dollar cost average. There is no such thing as totally free bacon, there is always a price to pay, somewhere.

Adding some cheese to your Bacon is ok, as long as you are following your IBS (Ingesting Bacon Statement).

I wonder what the totals are now, for everyone in this thread, for investment earnings to date - starting at the time the top was first called.  Over $2 million yet?

So I guess that was the top, then?

I predict this is the start of a significant correction, then the bull will resume.

Or, this is a flash crash and the bull will resume in a day or two.

Not so fast.  I called top at 9:35am.  It then took me 20 minutes to get all my accounts out to cash.  Top was in at 10:00am.  I beat Thorstach at their own game.

As a regular gambler in the stock market I get given lots of stuff.

  - I get lots of invites to parties, especially parties hosted by real estate agents (iíve Never known one who wasnít smiling), and

-I get offered all sorts of discounts on stuff. I just need to wire some money to some guy and he will give me the deal of the decade.

All awesome perks of being a regular gambler.

The Swiss National Bank is already/probably buying. They have to create money as they have zero/negative returns. Same thing the Japanese are/were doing.

Sorry for the and/or. Can't keep up with this stuff constantly. Have to work and bill Uncle Sam.

Obviously, top is in.  But how much will we drop?  And for how long?

Sorry to post real info on this thread, but take a look at this:  https://www.americanfunds.com/individual/planning/market-fluctuations/past-market-declines.html

I thought it was interesting in the "expectation management" department.
