I wonder what the totals are now, for everyone in this thread, for investment earnings to date - starting at the time the top was first called.  Over $2 million yet?

Today's update: the dow was up about 300 points this morning, then faceplanted and ended the day down 7.

So I guess that was the top, then?

I predict this is the start of a significant correction, then the bull will resume.

Or, this is a flash crash and the bull will resume in a day or two.

You read it here first..:)

Not so fast.  I called top at 9:35am.  It then took me 20 minutes to get all my accounts out to cash.  Top was in at 10:00am.  I beat Thorstach at their own game.

As a regular gambler in the stock market I get given lots of stuff.

  - I get lots of invites to parties, especially parties hosted by real estate agents (i’ve Never known one who wasn’t smiling), and

-I get offered all sorts of discounts on stuff. I just need to wire some money to some guy and he will give me the deal of the decade.

All awesome perks of being a regular gambler.

No its not. Win or loose, the casino gives you free drinks when you are regular gambler. Stock market... nothing!

You haven’t gotten your bottle of Vanguard’s Admiral scotch in the mail?   It really improves my trading days, although it’s got a pretty low ABV (0.05%)

They were able to lower that to 0.04% recently.

Disappointed that people are actually looking at the numbers.. I thought the point was just to always say the top is in no matter what is going on. I guess some men just want to watch the world burn.

The Swiss National Bank is already/probably buying. They have to create money as they have zero/negative returns. Same thing the Japanese are/were doing.

Sorry for the and/or. Can't keep up with this stuff constantly. Have to work and bill Uncle Sam.

Obviously, top is in.  But how much will we drop?  And for how long?

Sorry to post real info on this thread, but take a look at this:  https://www.americanfunds.com/individual/planning/market-fluctuations/past-market-declines.html

I thought it was interesting in the "expectation management" department.

Being semi-serious here...

What's up with the lack of volatility lately? It's just been a nearly steady march upward for a full year.  The last time we had any volatility spike was just after the elections.  The last four months have been particularly quiet.
(see below)
http://schrts.co/s35M8B

I'm calling bottom on market volatility.
