Top is so in.. Remind me of Christmas week 2018.. I think the S&P dropped like 20% in that week!.. Barely remember it now.

Google tells me it was only 9%.. Maybe it felt like 20..:)

Last Christmas
You gave me the top
but the very next day
you threw it away

This year
to save me from tears
I set and forgot it

Market melting up while simultaneously plummeting.
It's the

When I prey at night, I prey to J Pow, not god. He controls everything ;)

I tend to prey on fish and chicken, not federal reserve chairmen, but I try not to judge other's diets too harshly.

Predators often wish to occupy the top. But none can occupy the top for long.

J Pow basically controls the market. The FED has all the power in the world. I will just keep buying and buying and buying. Check back in 10 years.

You wouldn't be implying that Powell (or anyone for that matter) knows more than @thorstach would you?

41_swish had better watch it.

True. Best not to prey on anything/one that controls everything

Well of course the top is in right now, as always!
Joking aside, monte carlo sims say it's a bit better to withdraw as you go, but seeing all the clouds gather and of course the top being in, I wouldn't blame anyone who withdrew it in advance...

For my allocation, the top was December 6th.

The trick to timing the market is obviously time travel.

Time travels in both directions.  The problem is that we only perceive it travelling in one direction, and this has given us the mistaken impression of the existence of free will.

I always work during the weeks around Christmas and New Years. I don't have a wife or kids so I would rather save the PTO for something else.

In my office, we typically have 3 weeks of max telework during Christmas & New Years since no one is in the office. People too busy to use their leave when the weather is nice and take all of it right at the end of the year. I take minimal days off and enjoy slow/no email traffic. During a normal work day, I get more emails in an hour than I've gotten in total the past 2 weeks. Then I take 2 nice vacations in the early spring and late summer. I go south in the spring and north in the summer.

Max telework top is in!

There are all sorts of rationales for giving your money to other people. BTW, check out my new defi project, ChpBstrdCoin. It's inherently deflationary because nobody is willing to spend them. Also nobody is willing to take them, but that'll change over time due to scarcity.

Wouldn't it be funny if the top actually was in?  S&P 6000 - it was an amazing day... pretty much like any other.  10 years from now we'll be hoping S&P hits 6000 again someday!

Oh S&P at 6000, how we miss you.  Please come back.  But meanwhile, those treasury yields are starting to looks awfully attractive...

I really wish I didn't check the market everyday... I wish I lived in true bliss where I only opened quarterly statements. It feels good when it goes up and bad when it goes down. All I can do is keep shoveling into it.

If I was close to FIRE those treasury yields are looking pretty darn attractive.
