My wife and I just had our first child and we wondering the best savings vehicle for him? Our son was just baptized and family gave money but I'm not sure the best place to put it. The savings are not for anything specific; which is one of my concerns about using the gifts for a 529, and I wanted to see what others do/what others would recommend as a place to save in instances like this.
My wife and I plan on putting a specific dollar amount of our paycheck into a 529, and we thought for any occasions people wish to give money or a gift this would be where the money would go.
