It backtests well from just before the dotcom crash, not as well from just before the Great Recession.

Some substitutions made to extend farther back in time.
This seems to be a value strategy which has many proponents, but be careful with backtests. Instead of total bond market funds an emphasis on government bonds for that 10% might be better for this strategy.
