Title: Russell Small Cap Completeness Index
Post by: heybro on April 30, 2016, 03:03:01 AM
This fund is the only small cap fund offered by my employer.  Is it good?  Or is say VB, at Vanguard, more of a small cap representative fund.  I just want to be sure that I am in small cap - fully when choosing a small cap fund.  Just checking cause I can either hold small cap at work or in my own roth.  thank you!

The best way for you to do it is go to morningstar.com and look to compare funds.  If the fund you are talking about is RSCO

http://portfolios.morningstar.com/fund/summary?t=RSCO

Notice RSCO in the Holdings Style box is a little down and to the right:

Code: [Select]
Large         0,       1,         3
Mid          10,      14,        23
Small        16,      17,        18
             Value,   Blend,  Growth

VB is
0,0,0
9,12,18
20,20,21

So RSCO is weighted a little more toward mid cap and growth than VB but not that far off.
